Recall that Trump was elected with 46.1% of the popular ballot in 2016, approximately his poll in theYouGovAmerica graph of favorability.

Recall that Trump was one of the very few incumbent presidents defeated in his reelection attempt, receiving a slightly increased share, 46.9% of the popular vote. That also approximates the YouGovAMerica's 45.6% favorability.

Recall that Trump was impeached twice but not removed from office because he had absolute control of his party-

“Hitler (Trump) is Germany (America) and Germany (America) is Hitler (Trump). Whatever he does is necessary. Whatever he does is successful. Clearly the Führer (Trump) has divine blessing.

”The Fuehrer Principle"

Trump has a devoted base, but they are not a majority and they are not a significant influence in a divided, polarized electorate. Trump's greatest weakness is his divisive politics: he presents his opponents as inherent, persistent antiAmericans; and his own agenda as the only virtuous option. The Great Crusade- it will end the same way. He does not change any opinions, persuade opponents to ally in his cause.

Americans are political independents. That's America's greatest strength and it's most vulnerable point- any organized political force acting in unison can do great damage- the Civil War, Trump's attacks on the American election system and the January 6 attack on that process. Trump's insurrectionary instincts will be a disaster, and there will be no 'reconstruction'.
